Internship in US

usKamil Grabowski and Wojciech Sankowski came back from two months internship at Stanford University. The internship was organized by Ministry of Science and Higher Education in the frame of the program Top 500 Innovators Science - Management - Commercialization. This was the second edition of the program during which group of 40 participants from many various polish academic institutions were trained. The participants had classes at Stanford University on commercialization of scientific researches they are conducting. Moreover the program included site visits, during which the participants visited such companies like Intel, NVIDIA, D2M (Design to Matter), IDEO, Cisco, Exponent and Google. The internship took place from 28.04.2012 till 30.06.2012.

 
Prime Minister of Poland award

prmKamil Grabowski received Prime Minister of Poland Award for outstanding PhD theses finished in 2010. The ceremony took place in the Chamber of Prime Minister of Poland in Warsaw with the participation of Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Each year the best PhD theses from several disciplines are awarded and Kamil Grabowski’s work was distinguished in the field of electronics. Theses taken under award consideration must receive recommendation from highly qualified reviewers and appropriate committees of Polish Academy of Sciences.
The work entitled “Person Identification Based on Iris Pattern with special emphasis on hardware implementation” involves modern approach for biometric authentication systems design and realization using FPGA and DSP devices and statistical and quality analysis of this kind of systems as well.
